Who we are: The Founders
Lucas Pinto
As a high school senior and first-generation Brazilian-Latino, my upbringing has deeply shaped who I am today. My two sisters have been my greatest sources of inspiration. My older sister helped me overcome the academic challenges I faced early on in school, teaching me the importance of perseverance and leadership. Meanwhile, my younger sister has taught me the value of care and nurture, showing me how empathy can make a lasting impact which I aim to imbue in Educare. Whether in my personal and academic pursuits, I believe leadership is about creating a positive impact on others, just as my sisters have done for me, guiding my approach to our organization.

As someone who has always been driven by a strong sense of community, I’ve found that volunteering is not just something I do—it's a core part of who I am. From an early age, I’ve sought out opportunities to give back, whether it was through local food drives, tutoring, or organizing events to support those in need. As a leader in my school's Key Club, I’m able to channel that passion into making a larger impact by coordinating initiatives that bring people together for meaningful causes. Volunteering gives me a deep sense of fulfillment, and seeing the positive effects of our collective efforts inspires me to continue finding new ways to serve. It’s through this work that I’ve learned the true power of leadership: lifting others up and creating opportunities for everyone to contribute.
